Lemon cream cheese frosting

Not everyone loves buttercream- here’s a simple alternative!


1/2 cup unsalted butter softened (1 stick)

12 oz cream cheese softened (1 1/2 block)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp lemon juice

4 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2 tsp lemon zest

cream butter with handheld or standing mixer for 1 minute, this makes it a little more airy. add your cream cheese & mix again until all are combined and smooth. add your vanilla extract and lemon juice, mix again until distributed. next, add half of the powdered sugar, mix on low. Once it is combined, add the other half of your powdered sugar. lastly, throw in your lemon zest, mix once more and enjoy!

so. simple.

*this frosting will need to be refrigerated*
